A costume designer is a person who designs costumes for a film, stage production or television.
Costume design is a storytelling tool, and can define and communicate personality (are they flamboyant? modest? independent?), position or status, occupation and occasion. The costumes set the tone of the play as well as the style and characterization of the actors.
